How to control your Led Streetlights?


Customers want a built-in control system for LED streetlights before the goods leave the factory, but actually, they do not need it. A control system equipped by the factory could definitely increase the lamp cost; also, the control system is sometimes not dependable because customers don’t know or understand completely how it will work. My suggestion is that customers obtain the LED streetlight and control machine separately from a professional factory, i.e., streetlights from an LED lamp manufacturer and control machines from an LED streetlight control system manufacturer.


For controlling of Led streetlights, here I suggest one control system based on Zigbee, about what is Zigbee, I will introduce separately in my next blog.

Based on Zigbee technology, we can control each LED Streetlight separately, eliminating the need for traditional control methods that require separate controls for streetlights located at different points along the LED streetlight pole. Through Zigbee and GPRS wireless networks, we can control all streetlights from a single location, such as a control center equipped with a computer. The system not only controls each LED streetlight individually, but also controls all the streetlights together to achieve various lighting effects.

 To realize Zigbee wireless control of LED streetlights, first prepare the equipment listed below.

1. Node Controller for LED streetlights, the number of node controllers needed should depend on how many LED streetlights you want to control. The node controller can be built into the LED streetlight or mounted separately on the LED streetlight pole. An LED Streetlight can be opened by turning the screw. You can open the Streetlight shell, and when placing the node controller, it is better to choose a space where the power supply is located.
2, General controller, no matter how many LED streetlights you want to be controlled, if all of them are in one control system, the General controller should be only one. The general controller sends control signals to the node controllers through the Zigbee wireless Network and gets control instructions from the control center through GPRS.


3. Control system software, a software installed in a computer to realize full control of all LED streetlight controllers. Through humanized control of the software, we can set parameters for LED streetlights and remotely command them. All the instructions deployed by the software will be sent to the general controller via the GPRS Network.

Luminous emittance influence mentality


Light is so important which relates everything about our life, artificial lights for modern home lighting are incandescent, halogen, fluorescent; LED lights which based on a higher technology can greatly improve our life standard.

Psychology and Ophthalmology research results proved, only under a suitable luminous emittance, can we enter into work, study circumstances comfortably; suitable luminous emittance can benefit our mental and physical healthy, unsuitable luminous emittance  will cause us eyestrain and head uncomfortable.

Luminous emittance which is defined by General Physics the luminous flux incident on unit area of a surface. Its measured in lux. According research finding, luminous emittance for particular living circumstance, for example bed room, atelier etc. have a certain confined range. Blow data is based on their mass research.

1, Bed room

Basic Luminous emittance: 20lx----50lx, reading or makeup: 250lx-700x, you may improve the luminous emitance by getting more lamps. If you’re using dimmable led lights, you can turn the switch to get more lights.

2, Parlour
Basic luminous emittance: 20x-75lx, using sofa or things related with moving tea sets, eating pastry should have 120lx ---4000lx.

3, Study room
Basic luminous emittance: 50lx-120lx, things which related with reading should have 500lx---1200lx.

4,washroom
Basic luminous emittance: 75lx-150lx, 200lx---500lx should in need for washing and makeup.

5,Kitchen
Basic luminous emittance: 75lx-150lx, 200lx---800lx should in need for cooking.

Above statistics can be valuable advices for lamp designer and end-users. Adjust the lamp suitablely according practical request could be meaningful for every families. Normally, reference should be paid to white light; above 90 % modern lamps are white light which is the most familiar, acceptable light for us.

Three aspects to tell you why LED lights can save energy?

Before LED lights, people have CFL to cut their home energy bill.Now, it’s led lighting generation, many country issued policies recommends their residents using led lights, traditional incandescent lamps banned.

Comparing with LED, CFL is not very safe, because its mercury vapor would always be a latent danger to any of its users.LED have more advantages than CFL,and it’s environmental influence is lesser than CFL,can be considered a rather clean  Luminaries.

People always deem LED’s energy saving on its high lumen flux, for example: 5W replace traditional light 60W,so can save more energy.Actually,lumen flux is only one of the influencing factor relating with LED’s energy saving, the other two can be listed below:

Long lifespan: Why lifespan save energy? Led’s average lifespan 50,000 hours comparing with fluorescent/CFL’s 3,000 hours. 16.6 times higher than fluorescent/CFL. If “A” stands for LED light,”B” stands for CFL or fluorescent, we can make a equation below:

(1)    A’s lifespan=16.6 ×B’s lifespan
(2)    Energy usingCFL is about 40lm/w,LED is about 80lm/w,the energy saving equation can be made below

As A’s lifespan is 16.6 times longer than B. so total energy A can save will be 1/2 ×16.6=0.030(3/100), which means A can save 97% above B’s energy. That’s an incredible figure. Please note: this is only LED on energy’s side, do not include other cost, apparently, we can notice, if make B last as long as A, should have 17 B,if each B cost usd 1,17 times would cost 17dollars don not including replacement ,transportation cost interim.


Power factor: Power factor relates the power using efficient, the higher the power factor, more power would be used for the light, which means more energy can be useful to contribute the lighting instead of others. Led lights can have a power factor above 0.9,which means 90% electricity power are used for the lighting, only 10% for others. Traditional lights have a very low Power factor, many electricity power are wasted on generating useless heat or others.

Is it necessary for a factory to buy goods they can’t produce from other factory to keep their customers?

To buy the products from other factory always seems to be a good idea for a factory to keep new customers if the products they can’t produce in their own workshop,once the first transaction concluded,customers will reach this factory further for more related goods which may fall into the product series the factory itself can produce. Mostly ,this action will not make the factory to be considered as a trade company even when the customer do not visit the factory themselves.Honestly,some customers will  dislike the factory doing this to them,but under the circumstance the goods its urgently needed,and customer do not want to contact new suppliers for those goods his current supplier can’t produce,buying goods from other factory could be a great way to show goodwill and improve future business relations even most cases the factory itself would make no money on it.


Factories expect  their customers more understanding upon the situation they buying the goods they can’t produce from other factories, practically,mostly factories will bear a lost when they’re doing so,but on customer’s side,they will  think the factory having make some money on them just like a trade company.

For a factory buying the same industry products from other factories is not an easy thing,the business mostly can be done between factories with some kind relations,nor 90% above business will be a failure. Most factories are unwilling to sell their products to their competitors even the products looks like exactly same,they are caring about their technology skills to be leaked out,and their factory customer will not be their customer but will be their competitor.

Have you ever caring about your customers’ business?

To the salesperson, the most important thing is not about product quality but the services. When the first time the customers buy, they often tell you the product quality is extremely important as well as price. But no matter what they said, the precondition is based on the hospitability and consideration of the salesman and saleswoman, because no buyer want to buy some products from an unfriendly supplier even their goods is best and price is cheapest.

Customer will contact you actively when they really need certain kind of products which related with yours. Old customer will place order to his or her old supplier actively when he or her have further request of the goods.However, if one day they stopped placing orders and discontinued to contact with you further, will you ever ask them: why?

Due to keen competition, the market is more risky than ever before, to find right customers and sell products fastly and profitably need more knack and experience as well as time .Customers will do lost business sometimes due to improper management and unsuitable choice. A big buyer must be a great seller with tactics and ambition. Those buyers who know how to judge their supplier are factory or Trade Company and how to make their supplier give their rock-bottom price in a great short time and make them sell goods at no profits but return tax are not big buyers. Privately, they may feel self-conceited, and are happy with what they had bought –top quality at lowest price, so they can sell at a lot of profits, but actually not, other company are selling bad products at high price extremely well and synchronizely acquiring their market in a big share fastly and imposingly, that sounds a bit  sardonicism.

 Most suppliers are willing to lower their price further to their customers if they can to promote sales. However, if they are at no profit or at least the profit margin is extremely small already, all they can is taking following two ways to reducing price if you bargain further:

2, Reduce the cost of production
But once the cost of production maintains high and can’t be reduced, the only way to reduce the cost of products is to buy cheaper materials, which means going to a road with quality unguaranteed. So dear buyers, you are going to choose inferior quality goods with cheaper price.

Loyal customers do not only bring deeper business friendship but also the helping on business each other. Treat your supplier equally and respect, love your customers fondly and give them some help if they need can be a good way to cultivate and foster the “business tree” prosper and healthier.

LED Streetlight

Many indoor and outdoor lights are now being gradually replaced with LED lights. Streetlights are a vital source of illumination in public lighting. With streetlights replaced by LED, we can significantly reduce electricity consumption for public use, which can be efficiently allocated to other vital areas.

Streetlights are an integral part of a city’s illumination. Traditional streetlights using HPSL (high-pressure sodium lamp) beams, which cover 360°, cause a tremendous waste of energy due to the waste of light. Currently, the global environment is deteriorating, and every country is developing clean energy sources. This development presents a significant conflict between energy supply and demand, impacting the national economy. The problem of electricity power shortage should be solved. High efficiency, energy savings, long lifespan, high color rendering index, and environmental friendliness make LED streetlights an essential replacement for traditional HPSLs, playing a significant role in modern metropolitan illumination.

Illumination is closely related to people’s lives. LED streetlights benefit people with their directional lighting, low power consumption, high driving performance, prompt response, high shock resistance, long service life, and green, environmentally friendly characteristics. It becomes the most suitable choice for better road and street illumination conditions.

Below are some points that we usually think LED light is better than other Lights:

1, the intrinsic characteristic of LED streetlight—light is beamed in a single direction, no diffusion, and is efficient.

2, specialized optical treatment puts the light in the targeted area, further improving the light efficiency and energy saving.


3. When we talk about the LED, the chip should be mentioned. This is the most essential part because without it, the LED street light can’t give out light. Not to mention the theorized value of 250 lm/W, we discuss the actual lumen, which measures the light the LED emits. Most factory will use110-130Lm/w, which belongs to better quality, but it’s the one normal led street light will use.LED light beat the high pressure sodium lamp on brightness, the disadvantage of HPSL is that the more light needs more power.

3, LED can have a higher color rendering index of 75 above, I said 75, because regular chips in the markets are at this level, of course, better chips will beat 80 above, according to different manufacturers. The high CRI is an apparent advantage compared to HPSL’s 23ra; furthermore, LED can save 20% of electricity to reach the same brightness as HPSL.

4. Luminous attenuation is an essential factor that should be considered while choosing a luminaire. Why some lamps give out lesser and lesser light while you continue using? Due to its high light attenuation, the LED has a rate of only 3‰ per year, which is 100 times lower than HPSL.

5, Powered by low-voltage DC current, compared to traditional high-voltage AC current, LED lights are safe for use.

6. How long can you use traditional incandescent lamps and fluorescent tubes? In 4 or 5 years, it will break down. However, this is not for LED. LEDs have an average lifespan of 50,000 hours. Just calculating 6 hours a day, it can last 20 years or more.

7, LED light can be as easy as traditional light to be installed on a pole; many manufacturers are using screws, supports, and other components, which are simple and easy to be fixed safely without much effort.

8, Choosing a reliable manufacturer and asking them to use high-quality electrical components and add independent over-current protection. Because even the best light, if not correctly filled into the components, will fail. This phenomenon occurs with every type of light, including those from machines and LED lights. You will find that LED lights are very reliable when you get high-quality ones. LED lights are more trustworthy than other lights because they utilize high-quality components.

9, LEDs do not contain mercury and will not pollute our environment. However, HPSL has its time to be replaced with LED for a better environment.

10, which are high-quality components produced by a reputable manufacturer, LED streetlights have an almost zero maintenance rate. LED streetlights have a zero-maintenance rate, because every product that needs to be used for a long time should have good quality. That’s common sense.

Some manufacturers produce LED streetlights at a very low price; it’s useless to buy those products, because they are primarily directed at making a profit, not at creating a genuine product.

LED lights, mainly LED streetlights, should always mention their quality standard. Some people would say that even the worst-equipped LED street light will last longer than a traditional HPSL. I will not doubt it; just think that LED should unleash its full power, don’t let its luster fade in its heyday.

How to have LED lights installed in your bath room?


Have any kind lamps installed in your bath room should take safety problem into consideration first.Tradtional lamps are with input voltage DC 200-240V, there would be big potential danger if you lead this kind voltage directly into your bath room. However, LED lights with input voltage AC/DC 12V are mostly suitable for your bath room, even you touch the electricity directly, you will feel nothing shock.

To change traditional DC 100-240V voltage into DC12V for feeding your LED lamps should take below issues into consideration.

1, Traditional old Iron core transformer is not suitable for changing the voltage, they’re putting out unstable electricity which will change with the outside electricity.i.e your country’s electricity. Iron core transformers are change the voltage based on a ratio, for example: iron core transformer marked with input voltage AC 240V, output AC 12V is based on a ratio 20:1, if the outside voltage changed to 260V, the actual output voltage of iron core transformer will be AC13V, for LED lamps, improve the input voltage will lead the actual power of the light greatly increase, therefore will lead more heat dissipation, and the LED lamps with a small heat dissipation part can’t bear, which will usually burn down after a few minutes, see below photo( A cob 5w led spotlight burning out after about twenty minutes of operation powered by old Irion core transformer.):

For LED lamps with MR 16 base, normally with input voltage DC12V, those low voltage lamps can’t be same with high voltage input lamp which can be powered by a voltage range: DC100-240V.Low voltage lamps are with its voltage fixed, they can light normally below the maximum voltage input, for example, LED lamp with input voltage AC/DC 12V can be fed with input voltage 12.6V are with its maximum voltage input AC/DC 12.6V, this can be normally achieved by modify the driver inside the lamp.

2, For LED Lamps marked can be powered by AC/DC voltage can’t be powered by electronic transformer for traditional halogen lamps. Those transformers are putting out high frequency voltage, some reach to thousands hertz, but LED lamps are with input voltage of 50/60HZ.Powred by this kind electronic transformer will greatly shorten the lifespan of LED and make the so called 500000Hours lifespan of LED meaningless.
3. Switching power supply can power the LED light DC12V dearly; those switching power supply are with different power but you can choose one power your lamps according your lamp power, for example, DC12V 5W, if feeding two lamps, the minimum power of the switching power supply should be 10W, always remember: the power of switching power supply should be bigger than all the lamp’s power plused together. While installing, always remember do not lead the high voltage electricity into your bath room, so it’s a wise idea to put the switching power supply in the adjacent room of the bath room, only lead the electric cord with DC12V into your bath room,you can refer the draft below:
